EX TERRA VIS by STABLE is a connected collection of spontaneously composed tracks intended as an anti-tribute to the post-war newtown of Glenrothes, the town where I grew up and lived until I was 17. Its building was fuelled by a stubborn optimism that which quickly descended into a swamp of poverty, violence, drugs and apathy. It wears its failed potential with toxic pride, its populace proud of its lobotomised condition. By trying to create a ‘concept’ work around Glenrothes I realised that it couldn’t be something that would progress or ‘evolve’, rather it had to present the intense, ferocious, numbing tedium of having to exist in an economic prison like Glenrothes. Days, months and years will go by with no sense of time passing or expectation of life improving. I count my blessings I managed to escape.
